ASL - 14 Years Young and Often Presented To Sold Out Crowds:
The Art & Science of Love: A Weekend Workshop for Couples was designed and developed by John Gottman, Ph.D. and Julie Schwartz Gottman, Ph.D. It was based upon Dr. John Gottman’s 30 years of research with over 3000 couples. They have now led these workshops for 14 years and are hosting 5 weekends each year in Seattle, Washington. Currently, each event includes about 200 couples at various relationship and life stages. The workshop has continually been improved based on participation feedback and upon Drs. John and Julie Gottman exceptional presentation methods. Helping couples get the maximum benefit from the workshop is a primary goal of the Gottman Institute.
In April 2006 Drs. John and Julie Gottman trained the first set of Gottman Certified Therapists to lead and present The Art & Science of Love: A Weekend Workshop for Couples. Now, couples are able to attend this workshop in their home cities or in a nearby major metropolitan area. This is a significant expansion to the program and is exciting for those connected with The Gottman Institute. There are currently almost 170 trained Gottman Certified Couples Workshop Leaders.
The Art & Science of Love: A Weekend Workshop for Couples has been carefully prepared so that couples receive the same information and exercises regardless of where they attend a workshop or who leads the workshop. Certified Gottman Therapists are on hand to help couples learn the information. Every attempt is made to ensure that couples feel comfortable and able to learn what successful couples do to foster a positive climate in their relationships.
